Working can be fun!

Here's to a 13 hour day at work! No lunch, no breaks (except for dinner, but that didn't count in my 13 hours). We've got a build tomorrow morning and lo and behold, things took longer than I'd hoped.

On the other hand, I had a really good time doing it. There's a universal joy in accomplishing something on your own. I made a lot of progress and made sure things were neat and tidy. It's a great feeling. Though I'm quite exhausted right now. That said: good night.

Shifting planes

Despite enjoying having the delicious ammount of space I currently have in my apartment, I've decided to move to a one bedroom. Thankfully, the move itself shouldn't be too terrible. I will be merely moving up one floor.

The layout looks nice and things look clean. It seems as though there are far too many cable outlets in the place, but I'm not one to complain about that. I'm more worried about switching all of my services and mail to a new address.

This probably means that I will have another house-warming party. Really, there's no good reason, but it's an excuse to have a party.

Back from the down there...

Well, as it turns out, Iowa really is pretty dull. But I do hve some highlights to share with you, my beloved readers.

There is a restaurant in Decorah, IA that has a burrito called "Mr. King." Now, I know there are places that advertise how huge their burritos are, but this place doesn't even give you a warning. No, the name suggests that perhaps this is a well stuffed bit o burrito, but it does not prepare you for the actual arrival of the meal.

The burrito is comical. It's a novelty sized burrito. Really. I wish I'd taken a picture of it. It's about a foot long and about 6 inches in diameter. Lordy, it was massive. But it was also tastey and gave me the joy of leftovers.

Since it's the beginning of fall I got to see the beautiful sights that small, midwestern towns provide. The bunches of multicolored trees were quite beautiful. That's why I love fall. And the crisp, fresh air. Mmm...

The biggest downside was the fact that if I'd wanted to purchase any amenaties I'd pretty mcuh be forced to shop at Walmart. Thankfully I didn't need to support that establishment during my stay.

Goin' down ta Iowa!

Today I'm heading down to Iowa to visit my buddy the Yone Bone. Yes, it's Iowa. Yes, there's reportedly nothing to do there. But I've heard the bowling and beer are cheap. Yesh, I plan to bowl and booze it up this weekend. But I'm going to try not to mix the two... wouldn't want to hurt my game.

But seriously folks, I'm not actually planning to become a drunkard this weekend. I'm really much more interested in seeing my friend. I look forward to hanging out with him again, albeit for a short while.

I shall report on the goings on after this weekend. For now, I must get my drive on!
